Caitlin Snyman
Co-Publisher & Editor, Show Horse Magazine & The Equestrian Guide

Caitlin Snyman’s journey into the world of show horses began with her mother. Growing up in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, her mother fell in love with her first American Saddlebred and began showing, laying the foundation for a lifelong connection to the industry. As a child, Caitlin moved often before eventually settling in Lexington, Kentucky. While she had grown up attending horse shows in North Carolina, it was in Kentucky that she experienced the show ring for the first time. Around the age of six, she began taking lessons under Nancy McConnell and Julie Kaufman.

Caitlin’s early years in Kentucky were filled with what she describes as pure horse magic. Her days were spent running around the farm, traveling to horse shows, and learning the rhythm of life shaped by horses. Some of her fondest memories from that time are rooted in the saddle, where she felt safest and most at home.

Later, after moving to Tennessee, Caitlin’s path took a new direction. By the age of 15, she found herself working alongside her mother, Kelley Pomeroy, who was then the editor of Show Ring Times. With little prior knowledge, Caitlin taught herself graphic design through experimentation and intuition. Opening a computer for the first time and seeing a blank canvas felt like discovering an entirely new world waiting to be created. What began as curiosity quickly evolved into opportunity, as she started designing advertisements, logos, videos, and websites by special request. The demand for her work grew rapidly.

At 18, Caitlin accepted a position at Show Horse Magazine while attending Middle Tennessee State University. By the time she turned 21, she had been accepted into Nossi College of Art in Nashville, where she studied under leading professionals in the corporate media world. It was there that her vision began to crystallize. She knew she wanted to take everything she was learning and apply it back to the show horse industry—introducing a new creative ideology to a space where it had not yet existed.

Taking a leap of faith, Caitlin moved back to Kentucky to build something entirely her own in a place where horses were woven into everyday life. It was there that she launched The Equestrian Guide as a digital magazine, and it immediately took off in ways she never imagined.

Today, with Show Horse Nation, Caitlin continues that journey. For her, the work has always been about more than business—it is about sharing the magic that horses brought into her life and helping others feel that same connection. She strives to inspire, captivate, and influence people to see horses for what they truly are and to recognize their power to heal the soul. Through her work, Caitlin is deeply committed to preserving the tradition and beauty of the show horse world.

As Show Horse Nation continues to grow, Caitlin remains focused on building a team and community that share the same mission and values. Above all else, she puts the horse first and is dedicated to being their voice through her work.
